THE voice of a poet revolutionary Bernardo Clariana, poet, literary critic, latinist, translator and journalist, wrote numerous social, political and literary articles in various newspapers and magazines. He made a laudable cultural and intellectual work that, like the of so many other exiles, stays even exile in oblivion in exile. Bernardo Clariana was born in Carlet, Valencia, on July 21, 1912 and died drowned on a beach in the French Riviera, in 1962.

He graduated in classical philology. He was a Professor of letters at the Instituto de Ensenanza Media of Irun, reader Spanish in Toulouse, and, later, collaborator of the center of historical studies in Madrid. He collaborated in the Madrid newspaper El Sol and was Secretary of the new magazine Culture, organ of the anti-fascist intellectuals in Valencia. At the beginning of the war provoked by the military rebellion of General Franco, was editor in Chief of the newspaper’s war attack and regular contributor to the magazine time for Spain, the magazine of higher literary quality of the Spanish war. He was also a collaborator of Aeronautics, magazine of the Ministry of marine and air, and general Ballad of the war in Spain (1937).
